Bessie Lee Littlejohn

Obituary Bessie Lee Littlejohn was born on August 13, 1926 in Palestine, Texas through the union of Roosevelt Johnson Sr., and Dimple Harris Johnson. “Becky”, as she was lovingly referred, was the youngest of four children. Becky grew up in Palestine, Texas where she attended primary school and attended R.T. Coles High School in Kansas City, Missouri. Becky worked for 73 years as a cosmetologist. She obtained a class CA hairdressing and manicuring license in 1945 and continued working as a stylist until just prior to her death. Becky was united in marriage to Albert Littlejohn of Kansas City, Missouri who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her beloved parents, two sisters and brother. Becky went home to be with the Lord at the age of 92 on Sunday, September 1, 2018 at the University of Kansas Medical Center and was blessed to have her loving family by her side. She leaves to cherish her memory: one niece, Mrs. Denise (Teddy) Kelly; nephews, Mr. David Washington, Mr. Roosevelt Johnson III, and Mr. Harold Johnson II; great nieces, Mrs. Denise (Ben) Jakes, Dr. Erin Johnson, Ms. Alyce’ Johnson, Ms. Sherelene Pratt, Ms. Tina Roach, Ms. Tonya Peoples and Ms. Jamijah Johnson; great nephews, Mr. Corey Washington (Ashley), Master Talyen Washington, Mr. Paul Pratt, Mr. Roosevelt Johnson IV, Mr. Ryan Johnson and Harold Johnson II and a host of loving relatives and friends. Aunt Becky was a very independent, active and social person. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and customers, as well as the occasional trip to “the boat” but just for recreational purposes. Becky was the person to call when words of encouragement were needed and always had time to answer or solve a problem. She was the voice of reason when needed. We will always remember her as a kind, soft-spoken and loving person. She will be dearly missed. Prior to her death, Becky wished to express her heartfelt appreciation to each of her customers for their loyalty and support throughout the years. Unfortunately, my aunt was unable to personally thank you all, but I want to share her thanks and appreciation for the support, friendship and love each shared with her.
