Obituary Berdie Lee Henderson Williamson (Tweet-Tweet) was born January 5, 1935, in Foreman, Arkansas, to Major and Gertha Mae Henderson. She was the only girl of the three born into this union. Both parents, grandparents, husband Rev. J.R. Williamson, daughters Clarissa and Diane, a son, Johnny Jr., grandson Gervais, and many brothers and sisters-in-law preceded her in death. Berdie accepted Christ at an early age. Shortly after her family moved to Kansas City, Kansas, she was baptized at 8th Street Baptist Church. She received her education and graduated from Sumner HS, Class of 1954. Berdie met the love of her life and was united in marriage with Johnny R. Williamson in 1955. To this union, five children were born. Berdie has fellowshipped with several churches in her life. After serving as the first lady, being that virtuous woman at Rising Star Baptist Church for 38 years, she later joined Friendship Baptist Church under Pastor James A. Terrance, Jr. Berdie worked for Western Electric, later known as Lucent Technologies, for 26 years. After retiring in 1989, she served as Lady Attendant for Lawrence A. Jones Funeral Chapels for many years. In 2010, she focused on family and being that humble, classy first lady she was. Berdie stayed active with her high school reunion, minister wives union, and the McKelvy family reunion till the end. She was known for her sweet spirit, encouraging others to live right. Everyone knew Berdie for her stylish hats, being a sharp dresser, and her addiction to providing for everyone, especially her family. Berdie would say or start singing her favorite songs - If I can help somebody, my living is not in vain; followed by another favorite, asking the Lord to order her steps in His word. A virtuous woman, who loved traveling, modeling, and taking pictures. Berdie leaves to cherish her memories: daughter Cynthia (Roosevelt) of KC and son Darryl (Kaili) of KC; grandchildren Rochelle L. (Emmit), Tameka (Sturgiss), Jocelyn (Christopher), Christopher (Tassia), Dale (Rukia), Marquail, Khameiah, Delton, Bianca, and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and brothers Clarence of Olathe, Andrew (Nydia) of Brooklyn NY, sister-in-law Clara Mae of KC; Aunt Ella Mae of KCK, and a host of other uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends. Everyone would sadly miss her because she was truly loved by many.
