Obituary Benjamin Williams Bey, Jr. was born on September 14, 1950, in Atchison, Kansas to the union of Benjamin Williams Bey and Ruth Ann Jackson Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Jasmine Bey and Marsha Bey, two nieces, Lanetta Riley and Pamela Wilmore Bey. Benjamin was educated in the Atchison Public Schools and later continued in the Kansas City Kansas Public Schools attending Grant Elementary, Northeast Jr. High and Sumner High School where he graduated in the class of 1968. He attended college before entering into the U. S. Army receiving an honorary discharge. He was a decorated veteran serving in the Vietnam War. Benjamin was employed with Owens Corning until he retired. He was a true lover of horses and the western lifestyle with his dress. He wore western clothes, boots and hats, he even had the walk. He was a member of the Twin City Riding Club and the Tom Bass Riders. He strutted his stuff at the Black Rodeo's and Parades. Benjamin was an avid sports fan, he loved K. U. Basketball, Kansas City Chiefs and many other sports. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family. He wore many hats and answered to many different names, Ben, Ben Jr., Charlie and Charlie-Man, all these names were spoken in love. He departed this life on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at the home. He leaves to cherish his memory, two sons, Benjamin Milton, Jahmya Milton, granddaughter, Bonner Springs, KS, Daniel Bey, Kansas City, KS, Kennedy Sambol, granddaughter, North Kansas City, MO, Kaleb Sambol, grandson, North Kansas City, MO and Treston Bey, grandson, Grandview, MO; six sisters, Cheryl Winslow Bey, Kansas City, KS, Carmelia Jones, Washington, DC, Pamala LeJeune (Roy), Kansas City, MO, Ronda Bratton (Donald) and Elizabeth Williams-Bey, Atchison, KS, Wendy Bell, Topeka, KS; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins other relatives and friends. All of which was so special to him. His special family LaToya Abbot, special lady, Darion Abbot, special son, Destinee Abbot, special daughter Funeral services Saturday, March 18, 2023, 2:00pm at Watkins Heritage Chapel. Interment Monday, March 20,2023, Leavenworth National Cemetery, LVNKS. Visitation Saturday 1:00pm-2:00pnm at the chapel. Service conducted by Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel.
