Mrs. Audrey L. Anderson-Rideaux

Audrey L. Anderson-Rideaux completed her life’s journey on Tuesday, April 27, 2026. She now rests in the arms of the heavenly Father as she waits to receive her eternal rewards. Audrey was born on December 23, 1939, to the union of John and Alene Smith in Woodville, Mississippi. She moved to Kansas City in 1961, where she met her first husband, Zack Anderson, and from this union their only child Randy was born. After Zack’s death, Audrey met Ulysis (Reno) Rideaux in 2003, and they enjoyed six (6) wonderful years of joy together before Reno’s passing in 2009. Audrey worked as a waitress at various restaurants throughout the Kansas City area for well over 40 years. She was a well-known staple of the RC restaurant in Martin City with Dave Van Noy, where she was well-loved by many patrons. Audrey’s infectious smile and big heart gave everyone the feeling of being special. Audrey was a faithful member of Full Faith Christian Center under the leadership of Pastor John Edwards for many years, until his passing in 2017. She later began attending Second Missionary Baptist Church of Grandview. Audrey passed peacefully in her sleep on April 27, 2026, under the care of Kansas City Hospice House in Grandview. M.O. after a lengthy illness. Audrey was preceded in death by her father John Smith Sr., her mother Alene Smith, her brother John Smith Jr. Sister Ethel Green, husbands Zack Anderson, and Ulysis (Reno) Rideaux, and her son, Randy Anderson. She leaves to cherish her memory nine (9) siblings: Maggie Moore, Janie Washington (Onnie), Georgetta Sanders, Stella Edwards, Leroy Smith, Robert Smith (Connie), Theresa Howland (William), Pamela Peteet (James): four (4) grandchildren and three (3) great-grand children, a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends. As we celebrate her homegoing, The family is strengthened through the words of the Apostle Paul’s second letter to the young preacher Timothy: “ For I am now ready to be offered and the time of my departure is at hand I HAVE FOUGHT A GOOD FIGHT, I HAVE FINISHED THE COURSE, I HAVE KEPT THE FAITH: Hence forth, there is laid up for me a crown of righteous, which the lord, the righteous judge, shall give me that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing II Timothy 4: 6-8 Audrey, we will miss you, and your wonderful spirit will forever be with us! Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, 11am at the Watkins Heritage Chapel. Private Disposition. Visitation from 10am-11am at the chapel. Services conducted by Lawrence A.
