Obituary Arvenus Penn Jr. “Big Arvenus” “RV” age 61 passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Olathe Regional Medical Center in Olathe, Kansas. Arvenus was born in Kansas City, Missouri and the only child to his parents. He received Christ at a young age under the leadership of his father Bishop Arvenus Penn Sr. He was a graduate of Southeast High School Class of 1978. He attended Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg Missouri. RV was competitive by nature and loved to compete and achieve being the best at whatever he was doing. RV spent most of his life doing what he loved to do, living his passion for driving 18 Wheeler trucks. He was self-employed as an owner-operator most of his trucking career. His love for trucking led him to many places across the United States. Fond memories were made with his children and family during his travels as they accompanied him on many occasions. Arvenus inspired the careers of his son’s Antwon and Arvenus III following in his footsteps in the trucking industry. He was employed as a supervisor at Brill CSM Bakery Solutions in Bonner Springs, Kansas upon his death. We thank God for sharing Big Arvenus with us. He loved the 4th of July, it was his favorite holiday. He brought a lot of joy to the neighborhood selling fireworks and giving fireworks to the neighborhood children. RV was a true comedian by nature. He brought much laughter to many with his comedian ways. He remembered everything good and bad and would not let you live it down; he would tease you about it making jokes every time he saw you. RV had a big heart and was charming, he made friends everywhere he went never meeting a stranger. He was preceded in death by both his parents Bishop Arvenus Penn Sr. and Bessie Mae Penn. Arvenus is survived by his wife Kathy Marie Penn, ex-wife Teri (Penn) Lee, seven children, Antwon Brown-Penn (Michelle), Arvenus Penn III, Andre Penn, Jo’Von Carter, Sunevra Penn, Ashley Penn, and Arvonte Penn. And, two bonus children Melvin Moore III and Oriana Lee whom he had a very special relationship with and loved them as his own. Four stepchildren, Brendan May, Christopher Terron Robinett, Kasey Carl Jones, and Amanda Marie Jones. Grandchildren A’Niyiah Brown-Penn, Antwon Brown-Penn Jr., Lyrik Knight, Arvenus Penn IV, Javari King Penn, Janyhla Carter, Jalen Carter, Autum Carter, Ja’Zeir Carter, Tyrone Bridgewater, Triniti Price, and Kobe Price. He leaves a host of family, cousins and friends to cherish his memories. Big Arvenus will be truly missed. Funeral Service will Saturday, January 8, 2022, 11:00am Central Christian Church.
