Obituary Anna Louise (Green) Locke was born on January 31, 1923 in Kansas City, Kansas at home to (PaPa) James W. Green, Jr. and (Mama) Elizabeth (Bessie A. Gray Green. One of seven children, six sons and three daughters. Mama Anna grew up in Argentine, Kansas. She has gone to join her parents, brothers, Clifford, Kenneth, Wendell, Alfred, James and Dale and sisters, Erma and Jeanette. Anna was educated in the Kansas public schools, Northeast and Sumner High School where she graduated. She married our Dad Clarence Locke in March who was a baseball player in the 1940's. She traveled to some of his games out of town. Mother was mainly a housewife and she did domestic work, also she did seasonal work at the Post Office. Mama enjoyed canning and preparing tarts and popcorn for the neighborhood children. She was athletic in her bike riding. She was saved at an early age at Second Baptist Church. She remained a faithful christian and recently renewed her relationship with Jesus and continued watching worship online. Anna departed this life on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at the blessed age of 99 at her home. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, June Franklin, Adoria Durant and Kaye Ross (deceased); two step daughters, Ernestine Green (deceased); two grandaughters, Brenda Murff, great granddaughter, LaJoyce, one great grandson and Sandy Edd (deceased), she had a son, Rodney and step daughter, Clovice McGee (deceased) and stepson, Clarence Locke, Jr. (deceased), one granddaughter, Valjean Easterling (deceased) and one great granddaughter Mia and stepson Vernon Locke (deceased); seven grandchildren, Ronnell Durant ,grandson (deceased) (six great grandchildren) Ronnisha, Lil Ronnell, Keturah, Angdronell, Fashawna and Anthony; nine great great grandchildren, LaShawn Durant, granddaughter (two great grandchildren) Leonard and Nicholas Durant, (two great great grandchildren, Ezekiel and Norah; Robert Durant III A. K. A. Fats grandson (deceased) seven great grandchildren, Eboney, Raheem, Keyvon, Dyamon, Reginald, Raphael and Lorenzo (deceased) ten great great grandchildren; Michael Franklin Jr., grandson, (two great grandchildren, Michael Thomas and Ayana; Thomas Franklin grandson (deceased); Angela Ross granddaughter, (one great granddaughter) Kacee, Joseph Ross grandson (deceased) (one great granddaughter) Jodeci and (two great great grandchildren); son-in-law, Wixie Ross, a host of nephews, nieces, cousins other relatives and friends Funeral Service will be held Saturday, March 5, 2022, 11:00am at Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel. Interment Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9am-11am at the chapel. Service conducted by Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel.
