Obituary I was born May 17th 1932 to the union of James and Elizabeth-Brown Jackson of Kansas City Missouri. My parents were of Muslim Faith therefore my birth name is “Jamela”. If you know me “Jamela” was simply not going to work! Later in life I became as most of you know… “MS. Ann!” My parents preceded me in transition as well as my daughter, Diane Marie Jackson Oliver, three brothers, three sisters, two grandsons, one great niece, one niece, two brother- in- laws, one son-law and one loving husbands. Clarence Joseph Toney Adams. We’re all together again. My Earthly Journey consisted of living sharing loving and enjoying life to the fullest! That’s exactly what I did! I shared my 88 years with people of all walks of life! I never truly met a stranger! Growing up I was only privileged to of had a 6 grade education… Oh no baby, that was not stopping me from my education on life! I knew more about life than most, See I never felt less than anyone! I worked hard at bringing joy into the lives of others! I believed in doing a job all the way! If you can’t find joy in what you do, S***, don’t do it! Yes, I enjoyed the usage of those good old curse words! I was a hard worker at everything I did! I was an entrepreneur, my late husband Toney and I owned several “Heart of America” Restaurants around the city! Who didn’t like Chicken in a d*** Box! Especially after a night of good old drinking and parting! I bet you didn't know we started “Delivery Service” way before it was fashionable! These d*** folks think it’s new! H*** Naw! You better ask somebody! I also worked at The 25 Grand Restaurant until the day it closed completely down. Working hard was in my blood! I quickly went to work for Harvest Bakery in “Crown Center!” Where I received several acknowledgements of achievements during my tenure there! I retired from that venue and decided to just relax play a little Bingo a couple days a week and I loved wearing my friends and family’s as**s out in “Bid Wiz!” I was a trash talker! Oh yeah, if I thought my partner and I had ya beat, It gave me such pleasure to lean back with all the confidence in the world and spell out the word “B-O-S-T-O-N!!!!” TAKE THAT!!! After a bit of time I realized I wasn’t quite ready to totally retire. I wanted to be around the everyday people again so, I decided to work a few days a week with my daughter at our “Family Mini Mart”. If I tell you I listen to every story true or false gave advice to ones in need and every now and then I sold a few items at whatever small amount they had in their pockets! Don’t Tell Toni!… I just love helping people and in exchange I received pleasure and the blessings of love. I loved cooking and family, To my loving Children, Grand’s, Great Grand’s and Great-Great, If I didn’t say it as often as you may of needed to hear it… Know the most joyous times were spent with all of you… I looked forward to my large family Christmas’ and other Holiday gatherings! I know I may have pretended by complaining and saying “I’m not doing all the d*** cooking!” However, I truly loved it! I wish you all to know and understand “Family is a Blessing!” I ask you, Kenneth Jackson, Mark Woodard, Debra Young, Toni Woodard Adams, Annette ( Bunny) Woodard, my three brothers, Arthur ”Sammy” Jackson (Clemenstene), Eugene (Genie) Jackson ( Debra) Charles “Charlie” Jackson, my sister, Hazel Johnson, my Godson Merle Walker (Cynthia) my 14 Grandchildren, 26 Great Grand’s, my 20+ Great-Great Grand’s my nieces, nephews, cousins and all of my family and friends in Richmond, New Orleans and Denver to please… Cherish my memory, make your own, know I love you all and at the end… You are the Family I certainly thank God for blessing me with to share my “Earthly Journey!
