Obituary On Monday, August 30, 2021, Andre Lomont Byers, affectionately known as “LARRY’, received heavenly perfect peace. “To be absent from the body and present with the Lord”. 2 Corinthians 5:8. Andre was born June 9, 1960, in Kansas City, Kansas to Rosie Byers and Burnell Canady. His early childhood years were spent with his great grandparents Leroy and Luesar Rainey in Cleveland, Arkansas. It was here that he attended Center Community School. After his move to Kansas City, he attended both Northeast and Sumner High Schools. Throughout the years, Andre was employed as a Machinist at Shelton Machine Shop and Deffenbaugh Industries. But life’s challenges forced him into an early retirement. Byers was a talker. You could not shut him up about his family and friends. His main topics were affectionately his sons, Jermelle, Dominique and DeAndre. He never missed the opportunity to show off his grandkids’ pictures. He was a devout lover of Cadillacs, Stetson hats, the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals to the very end. He was always seen pampering his red DTS and playing the chocolate Stetson, while sporting the appropriate KC team gear. Andre swore that he was God’s gift to “Two Steppin”. For real Andre joins his heavenly family, son DeAndre Byers, brother Jerry McDaniel, brother Gordy Wallace, sister Bernadette Canady, grandmother Rosie L. Carter, grandfather Arsby Byers, great grandparents Leroy and Luesar Rainey and Malvin and L.Q. Canady. Andre is survived by his sons Jermelle and Dominique (Ashley) Byers of Kansas City Kansas, Mother Rosie P. McDaniel, father Burnell (Ruby) Canady of Conway, Arkansas. Brothers Lee Otis McDaniel of Morrilton, Arkansas, Bryant (Lolita) McDaniel, and Gregory Canady of Conway Arkansas. Rodney, Carlos, Eric LaRon (Synethia) and John McDaniel all from the Kansas City area. Sister Sharon McFarlin of Morrilton Arkansas, Grandfather’ Felix Carter of Kansas City, grandson Jermelle “Little J”., granddaughters Shamale, Daysia, Dayanna, Draya Byers, Jaidyn and Jaida Mathews. Loving sister-in-law Lynn McDaniel and a host of uncles, aunties, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Special friends’ Rick Brown and family and Marquita Poindexter.
