Miss Alysha Lashawn Burney

Alysha LaShawn Burney of Kansas City Missouri, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2025, at the age of 24. Born on March 3, 2000, Alysha was the second child of Anitra Scott and Charles Burney Sr. Growing up in Kansas City, Alysha accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at Macedonia Baptist Church. Alysha was a shining light in the lives of all who knew her. During her time at Macedonia, she was apart if junior and teen church, youth choir, and multimedia. She graduated from Liberty North High School and went on to earn her Bachelor of Science degree in Digital Media from the University of Central Missouri. With an unstoppable drive and passion for media, immediately after graduation, she moved to Los Angeles, CA. to pursue her dreams to write, produced, and directed films. Alysha, was able to start her own production company called A. Burney productions where she wrote, produced, acted, and directed in a couple of short films. She, had dreams to open her own production studio here in Kansas City Missouri. So, she would be able to help others content creators. From a young age, Alysha was destined for the camera, creating countless videos and short films (Shiesty and Hot Girl Summer) which showcased her humor, talent, and vibrant personality. At the age of 19, Alysha was also selected to audition for Wild-N-Out TV show. Her creativity and dedication led her to become a social media sensation, amassing over 5 million followers across YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok. She entertained and inspired millions with her comedic genius, authenticity, and boundless energy. Alysha was an ambitious, outgoing, and talented visionary whose impact will be felt forever. Alysha’s presence brought joy to many people and her memory will live on in the hearts of those who love her. Though her time with us was brief, her legacy of laughter and determination will never be forgotten. Alysha is survived by her mother, Anitra Scott; father, Charles Burney Sr (Cherry); brothers, Charles Burney Jr.; Kyle Burney; her sister, Malaya Burney; grandmother's, Geraldine Scott; and Wanda Burney; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends who cherished her. Alysha’s laughter, creativity, and love will forever remain in our hearts. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday March 29, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church 1700 East Linwood Blvd. KCMO 64109. Private Disposition. Visitation: 2-3:00 p.m. at the Church.
