Ms. Allela J. Bledsoe

Allela, affectionately known as “Teadie” departed this life on December 17, 2024 at Lake City Nursing Facility located in Morrow, Georgia. She was born in Tunica, Mississippi on November 21, 1930, to the late Willie and Estella Dickerson the second of three children. The Dickerson family, including Allela migrated to Kansas City, Kansas. On July 12, 1947, she gave birth to the joy of her Life a son Verdell Hoard. Allela was united in marriage to Flay Bledsoe on December 13,1952 and moved to Kansas City, Missouri. This union lasted until 1966. During her life in Kansas City, MO she worked various jobs until obtaining her Cosmetology License and opening her own beauty shop. Later becoming a State Board of Cosmetology Inspector. After retiring from the State of MO she obtained her CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) Certificate. She was a dedicated member and servant of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith, where she enjoyed donating her famous deserts. She loved traveling with her family members to the various church conventions throughout the country. Her favorite pass times were bowling and watching wrestling several times a week on TV. In 2016 she moved to Hampton, Georgia to live with her son Verdell, then returned to Kansas City for a short period of time. Later retuning to Georgia to live with her granddaughter Vernita until being placed in the Lake City Nursing Facility. Allela is preceded by her two sisters, Izola Ross and Sarah Taylor. She is survived by her loving and devoted son Verdell Hoard (Mary Jean) of Hampton, GA, 4 grandchildren, Derrick Lee of Kansas City, MO, LaKeisha Hoard of Hanover, MD, Keima LeBoo (Prince) of Kissimmee, FL and Vernita Moore of Hampton, GA, 12 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 3, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith 2010 East 49th Street KCMO 64130. Visitation: 10-11:00 a.m. at the Church. Interment: Forest Hill Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapels.
