Obituary On March 31, 2019 Alexander Arvene Haynes II was given his wings. Alex was born August 15, 1945 in Monticello, AR. Losing his mother at a young age, he was raised by his father with the assistance of his big sister Mary Alice. He gave his life to Christ at any early age and was a member of Trinity Temple C.O.G.I.C. until he was called home to be with the Lord. Alex was a veteran of the Vietnam War, were he earned several medals including the Purple Heart, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal 4th Award, National Defense Service Medal, Army Occupation Medal (Berlin), Vietnam Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, NCO Professional Development “3”, Presidential Citation, Valorous Unit Award, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm Citation, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. Alex graduated high school when he was 16 years old and at the age of 19 he joined the United States Army. He obtained his Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree from California State University Dominguez Hills, where he was often recognized by the Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. He started his career as an Army Career Counselor and ended it as a Military Police Officer. Alex also worked for 19 years for the United States Postal Service as a Supervisor. After retirement he worked for Enterprise Rental Car Company. Alex was an avid bowler, a huge sports fan and loved to play Bid Wiz. He enjoyed traveling on road trips to visit family and friends. He also loved to spoil his family by taking them out to eat. Alex was also known for his wealth of knowledge on subjects such as politics, finances, and life. Friends and family loved calling on him for advice. If he didn’t know the answer, no one did. Alex was preceded in death by his parents, father Willie H. Haynes and his mother Fronnie Mae (Huskey) Haynes. His siblings Mae Ola Huskey, Mary Alice Haynes, Willie H. (Billy) Haynes, George P. Haynes and Mack E. Haynes. And his daughters Della Colbert, and Karen Threlkeld. He leaves to mourn wife, Jennice (Youngblood) Haynes; his brother, Elmer Haynes; his children, Marriette (Jesse) Barbee of Indiana, Camelia Haynes of the city, Alex (Sarah) Mayo of Lee’s Summit, MO, Alexander A. Haynes III of the city, Preston Haynes and Alyce Haynes of Alhambra, CA; nephew, Preach (Janine) Haynes of the city, Lamont (Shelia) Youngblood of Chicago, Illinois, Laurice (Eric) Youngblood-Thomas and Chardia Sankey of Lee’s Summit, MO, Raymond (Kenyada) Sankey of Chicago, Illinois; brothers- in- law, Terrance Youngblood and Wallace Youngblood of Chicago, Illinois, Wallace Harris and Markis Austin of Union Springs, Alabama, Clifford (Linda) Burton; sisters-in-law, Cynthia (Craig) Crawford of Chicago, Illinois, Patricia Youngblood of Atlanta, Georgia and Kimberly (Germorris) Gachette of Union Springs, AL. and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. And his very special 4 year old doctor Amaya (Da Doctor) Balogun-Ibrahim. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Trinity Temple Church of God in Christ 11922 Food Lane Grandview, Missouri. Visitation 11:00 A.M.
