Wardell Love

Mr. Wardell Love was born June 15, 1932, in Colt Arkansas to Waddell and Dorothy Love. He was one of six children.

Wardell departed this life on Saturday, April 7, 2018, at John Knox Village Hospice.

He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty years, Nellie, a brother, Odell Love, sisters, Dorothy Mabon, and Arritta Hannon, and both parents.

 Wardell received his education at W.W. Yates, R.T. Coles, and Lincoln High School in Kansas City, Missouri. He held many jobs throughout his life, retiring from K.C.A.T.A after thirty-one years of service. Wardell accepted Christ at an early age. Later he joined Palestine Missionary Baptist Church of Jesus Christ.

Wardell Love leaves to cherish his memory, two sons, Michael Love, Sr. (Paula) and Ronald G. Love both of Kansas City, Missouri; two daughters, Patricia D. Mann (Kirby) of Lee’s Summit, Missouri and Stephanie E. Mack of Kansas City, Missouri; one  sister, Viola Carruthers of Renton, Washington; one brother, Johnnie Stephens of  Kansas City, Missouri; nine grandchildren:  Bryan G. Love, Tyrone J. Gethers,  Kris T. Mann, Tamara J. Casey  (Leonard), Steven N. Love (Sylvia), Michael A. Love, Jr., Marcus B. Mack (Shamille), Nicole P. Mack, and  Brittany E. Mann; eight great-grandchildren: Imani Gaynor, Leonard Casey, Jr., Chloe Casey, Steven N. Love, Jr., London J. Love, Malia A. Bell, Micah J. Mack, and Cayden Mack; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service for Mr. Wardell Love will be held Friday, April 13, 11:00 a.m. at Palestine Missionary Baptist Church of Jesus Christ, 3619 E. 35th St.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Church.

Interment, Floral Hills Cemetery.
