Samuel Lee Baskin-Bey was born on December 11, 1956, in Alton, Illinois to Ora Lee Banks and Robert Baskin, Sr.
Samuel departed this life on April 1, 2018.
He was preceded in death by, his parents, eight brothers and sisters, Gennie Mae Yates, Loraine Williams, Christine Eastwood, Jessie Gidion, Emmie Tanner, Charlotte Ballinger, Josh Baskin and Lonzo Baskin.
Sammie accepted Christ at an early age. He attended Alton Sr. High School. Upon graduation, he joined the United States Army. He drove trucks and worked for Billy Carmen Construction Company.
Samuel Lee Baskin-Bey leaves to cherish his memories, nine daughters and two sons: T’Niaka of Alton, Illinois, Tenneil Baskin of Springfield, Illinois, Markilla Smith and Robin Bruce of Alton Illinois, Toni Baskin of Atlanta, Georgia, Nakia Baskin, Katie Baskin, Ashley Hook and Orielle Morrison of Alton, Illinois, Samuel Baskin of Indianapolis, Indiana and Antwan Baskin of Alton, Illinois; four sisters: Earlene Adams and Judy Banks both of Kansas City, Missouri, Sarah Banks and Janna Banks both of Alton, Illinois; two brothers, Robert Baskin (Dorothy) of South Bend, Indiana and Charles Banks of Alton, Illinois; twenty-one grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, loved ones and friends.
Funeral Service for Samuel Lee Baskin-Bey will be held Friday, April 13, 11:00 a.m. at Deliverance Temple, Alton, Illinois, 62002.
